Adoring Rachel Bilson • •

Toronto International Film Festival has booked New York, I Love You, a compilation of short films from 12 international filmmakers, including Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Allen Hughes, Shekhar Kapur, Mira Nair and Brett Ratner, with star turns by Orlando Bloom, Christina Ricci, Ethan Hawke, Shia LaBeouf and Julie Christie, among others. It will screen as a work-in-progress as part of Special Presentations. The festival is held September 4 to 13, 2008. For more details, please refer to the TIFF website.

I carried on uploading additional images to the gallery last week but was unable to post about it until now. It is a mixed batch featuring MQ & HQ images from commercials, talk show appearances, additional scans, as well as additions to the TCA awards from earlier this month. I’m sure everyone has noticed the updates in the gallery of late; I was finally able to start uploading the content that was originally on the rachel-bilson.net domain into our gallery and I decided to focus on the scans and clippings this week.

Yesterday Rachel attended at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, she looked so amazing in her dress and everything. The show will air tonight at FOX 8pm/7pm CT, don’t miss it.

You guys know what? Rachel won an award for her part in the movie Jumper, the award she won was; Actress: Action / Adventure. Here are some previews and links.

Gearing up to release her first line, Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans, Rachel Bilson strikes a pose for the line’s chic ad campaigns. In the actress’s first foray into design, she takes center stage to promote the juniors sportswear line in a chic black belted dress and funky vest. Just like in her everyday wear, Rachel seems to have combined her California cool fashion sense with an edgier runway sensibility. We can’t wait to see more when the collection is hitting stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom in September.

The 26-year-old former O.C. recently told Women’s Wear Daily that she’s putting her acting duties on hold to focus on her new fashion line, Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans.

“This line is my main focus right now,” Rachel said. “I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”

Kevin Monogue, president of DKNY added, ‘Our customer has a real emotional connection with Rachel and she’s always on the best-dressed lists, so it seemed like such a win-win for us. Rachel has real personal style and she is very involved in every step. You can really see that in the collection.”

Monogue ended with: “It has the potential to go long term.”

Apologies for the lack of updates lately, things are still a little hectic. Anyhow, onto the update! First off, Rachel has been quoted as saying that her main focus is her fashion line as she wants it to be taken seriously and so acting duties have been put on hold. The junior sportswear line debuts in stores such as Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom this September with prices ranging from $19.50 - $49.50 per piece.
